Mary asks…
What is the best electronic keyboard for the money?
I am looking at buying a keyboard for my daughter’s 16th birthday. She will be starting piano lessons soon. She is an extremely talented singer and will be majoring in music or music/theatre in college. She also writes music.
What is the best for my needs. I have been looking at the Yamaha ypg -225.
admin answers:
It depends on your budget. If she is taking piano rather than keyboard lessons (there is a difference) then you should consider an 88 note digital piano.
The best makes in my opinion are:
Yamaha
Roland
Casio
Suzuki

Mandy asks…
How do I choose a good electronic keyboard?
Can you help me out in choosing the right one/ right features?
This is what I am looking for:
I need a full set of piano keys.
I need the sound output to be high quality. I’d like to hear the music I’m playing as if I were palying it on a steinway grand (Obviously not possible, but you get what I mean, I don’t want some poor quality junk)
Do these keyboards come with a headphone jack? I’m sure my roomate would get annoyed of me playing at late hours into the night.
Also, do they come with pedals? I think I have seen one with all three, but that could just be my imagination.
Are there certain things about keyboards I should know? IE, do they lose quality over time/ individual keys break?
Lastly, what would I be paying for an above avergae keyboard?

Roland makes great ones. If you go here:

you can see what you might be looking for.
We are very happy with ours.

James asks…
What’s the best electronic keyboard for music beginners?
I want to learn how to play the keyboard, and so I’m looking for a unit that has a built in teaching system. I’m totally new to playing the piano. Any recommendations?
Also, I’d like to learn how to play the latest songs. Something that will allow me to download new songs and play them.
admin answers:
REAL keyboards don’t have a built in TEACHING system.. They are serious keyboards… If you want one of those toys they market on the Saturday morning TV shows, THEN you get the built in teaching system… If you want a REAL keyboard… You BUY a REAL keyboard… And learn to play it, just like everyone else has had to do.
That being said, I have had a Casio for years and really like it.

Joseph asks…
How do i connect my Electronic Keyboard to my laptop?
I use a keyboard everyday to play songs but i want to use it as a synthesizer! Is there anyway that i can connect them and not buy some big expensive product?
Thanks.
admin answers:
If your keyboard is not USB, then you need some kind of converter that has the same plugs as your laptop and keyboard.
