Betty asks…
Wouldn’t it be cool If both The Fresh Beat Band and Hi-5 teamed up as The Hi-5 “Fresh Beat Band”?
I absolutely LOVE both shows so much and I’ve got them at home on DVD sets too. I always thought about how awesome and cool it would be If The Fresh Beat Band and Hi-5 both came together and teamed up as a collaboration band called The “Hi-5 Fresh Beat Band” you know! It would be Off The Hook because you’d have the 2 greatest and biggest musical kids shows together as one mega star music band and the whole entire world would tune in to watch the very first minute of it. Here’s the lineup…
Hi-5 {American Cast}:
Sean Taylor-Corbett
Curtis Cregan
Kimee Balmilero
Karla Cheatham-Mosley
Jennifer Korbee
Hi-5 {Australian Cast}:
Nathan Foley
Tim Harding
Kathleen De Leon Jones
Charli Delaney
Kellie Crawford
The Fresh Beat Band Cast:
Twist {Jon Beavers}
Shout {Thomas Hobson}
Kiki {Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer}
Marina {Shayna Rose: and please return to show again}
Now the moment we’ve all been waiting for The Hi-5 Fresh Beat Band Cast:
1- Shout
2 – Twist
3 – Marina
4 – Kiki
5 – Shawn
6 – Curtis
7 – Jennifer
8 – Karla
9 – Nathan
10 – Tim
11 – Kathleen
12 – Kellie
13 – Charli
14 – Kimme
All together as “The Hi-5 Fresh Beat Band.
Just picture this, Hi-5 could sing the songs while The Fresh Beat Band plays the music with their instruments and at the end ALL 14 of them could come together as a team and finish the excitement off with a BIG extravaganza bomb concert ending!!! I think it would be an outstanding idea to have both The Nickjr. Fresh Beat Band and Hi-5 from The Discovery Kids perform and sing together as The Hi-5 Fresh Beat Band everyone. And hopefully Shayna Rose will come back to The Fresh Beat Band as Marina again to make that happen! I can see it right now The Fresh Beat Band and Hi-5 doing a song mix of “Go Bananas” and “Some Kind Of Wonderful” yeah.
Watch these videos to see what I’m talking about:

Can you picture these 2 bands performing together as a team, I think it would be just OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!

Mary asks…
What sports/activities should I sign my kids up for?
I am torn on which sports or activities to get my daughters involved in. They are still young, so I have some time to decide, but I do know that I want them each to learn a musical instrument in addition to a physical activity. I don’t want to overwhelm them, but I want them to stay busy. Here are some that I was considering. Which ones do you like/dislike and feel free to add other suggestions. Thanks.
Tennis
Gymnastics
Martial Arts
Swimming
Volley Ball
Ice Skating
admin answers:
How old are they? You can ask them if they are over 4.
Other suggestions:
Baseball/Softball.
Football,
Soccer,
Basketball,
Swimming,
Hockey,
Boxing,
Dance,
I do like all of your ideas, but don’t be afraid of trying more “boy” sports, a lot of girls actually enjoy them.

Ruth asks…
Proof that nowadays, young kids have nearly no musical knowledge?
First off, I would like you to know that I am a teenager, so I am not saying all kids have no knowledge of music. And if you know about my musical interests, like some of you do, you’ll know that this doesn’t apply to me either.
Anyways, we had a person come to our school to give a speech about talent and success and blah blah blah. He asked for any student that aspires to be a performer of any kind (Musician, actor, sports player, etc.) and I went on stage (as I wish to be a guitarist in a REAL band). After everyone got on stage that was supposed to be up there, he went down interviewing people about they’re goals. His questions for me were:
What do you want to be?-musician
what instrument do you play?-Guitar, sort of drums
What kind of music is your favorite?-Rock
What’s your favorite rock band of all time?-Pink Floyd
At the words “Pink Floyd” everyone in the audience that was made of eighth graders began to laugh because, and I quote, “Pink Floyd is a funny name for a band.”
Opinions?
I fell upon Pink Floyd on my own accord, My parents might as well have been in that crowd seeing as they listen to the newer pop crap.
I never had the patience to actually try the darkside of the rainbow
One comment I did get that I actually liked was when an autistic kid at my school went up to me and said “Pink Floyd is a good brick in the wall” and walked away humming the melody of Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2.
Normally, if you said anything to hima bout music, he would be clueless, but I am not saying that with any malice towards people with autsim.
one lats note, I wasn’t saying that “all” kids have no musical knowledge, I was saying that a lot don’t and I understand why some adults criticize us. and when i say real band, i mean a band that’s in it for the music not fame. In no way am I any better than anyone else, I just get annoyed by ignorance.

In this generation, kids like the “rap hip hop” BULL.
That crap isn’t music. I know what you mean.. My highschool..
I could’ve asked a group of 50 random people who deep purple was, and they would say who?
People are musically ignorant. They think singing along to songs about pimps and hoes and money and cars is music, with generated tunes made by a computer. It’s pathetic.

Joseph asks…
Is Xylophone the Best Musical Instrument for Kids? Is it possible to build one at home?
I think activities and hobbies might foster parent-child relationships. Besides, I love doing DIY projects at home.
admin answers:
Yes, a xylophone is the best musical instrument for kids. It is simple, quaint, fun and you can play ’3 blind mice’ or ‘happy birthday’ on it
In fact, my brother is a percussion player and often tells me how xylophones, marimbas and glockenspiels (varieties of percussion instruments) are the foundation of both rhythm and music. All a kid or toddler has to do is pick up those mallets and start ‘tinking’ the metal bars. Soon enough, you’ll hear the young one ‘tinking’ with delight and, with some parental training, learn to play simple songs on it.
In my experience, a toy xylophone is probably one of the first musical instruments that a parent gifts a child.
As far as building a xylophone at home, yes, that too is possible. A simple one can be made out of hardwood or rosewood arranged on a metal frame. A more complex one can be made out of copper or aluminum bars.
A 11-tone box-resonated xylophone made of hardwood is one of the simplest homemade xylophones that’s actually fun to play. You can build it over the weekend, or if you’re keen enough, in a single afternoon as well.

Lisa asks…
beginner piano question! _10 points_?
i have a first act (the brand for kids musical instruments) keyboard. would i be able to play this like a regular one also i am a beginner and just learning how to play. i am 13 year old by the way
admin answers:
I am not familiar with that model of keyboard but the keys are the same as on a piano, but there are not as many keys. The only problem would be playing keys that are not on the keyboard.
